Board
1. A long, flat slab of sawed lumber; a plank. He sawed the board to repair
the porch.
2. Games. A flat surface on which a game is played. We set up a checker board
to play checkers.
3. An organized body of administrators or investigators. The board of trustees
oversees the finances of the college.
4. To cover or close with wooden planks. They boarded up the windows before the
storm arrived.
5. To furnish with meals in return for pay. We paid $5 a week for room and
board.
