Channel

1. The physical confine of a river consisting of a bed and banks. You must dredge the river channel.
2. The navigable part of a river. The ship must follow the deep channel.
3. A specific radio or TV assigned frequency for transmission. KNBC is on channel 3.
4. A narrow body of water between two land masses. The English Channel lies between England and France.
5. The natural or man-made deeper course through a reef, bar, bay or any shallow body of water. Big ships must stay in the channel.
