Cradle

1. A small low bed for an infant, often furnished with rockers. A rocking cradle will help get babies to sleep.
2. The earliest period of life. From the cradle to the grave, life is tough.
3. A framework of wood or metal used to support something, such as a ship undergoing construction or repair. The cradle protected the ship so we could undertake the repairs.
