Drift

1. A mass of matter which has been driven or forced onward together in a heap. The car got stuck in a snow drift.
2. Course or direction along which anything is driven. I understand the drift of you objection.
3. Anything driven at random. He was not studying but just drifting along.
4. The distance to which a vessel (plane, ship) is carried off from its desired course by the wind, currents, or other causes. The drift caused us to far off course.
5. To move slowly, pushed by currents of water, air or etc. The crippled boat just drifted with the wind.
6. To move haphazardly without any destination. He drifted from town to town without setting down.
