Drown

1. To be suffocated in water or other fluids; to perish by such suffocation. The victim had drowned in 13 feet of water.
2. To deprive of life by immersion in water or other fluids. He drowned the cat in a bucket of water.
3. To deaden one's awareness of; to blot out. Some drown out their troubles with drink.
4. To muffle or mask (a sound) by a louder sound. He screams were drown out by the passing train.
