Egg

1. Animal reproductive body consisting of an ovum or embryo together with nutritive and protective envelopes; especially the thin-shelled reproductive body laid by e.g. female birds. The 1.5 kg (3.3 lb) ostrich egg is the largest egg currently known.
2. Oval reproductive body of a fowl (especially a hen) used as food. We often have eggs for breakfast.
3. Slang. A fellow; a person. He was always known as a good egg.
