1. A building containing the offices of an ambassador and staff. The American embassy in China is located in Beijing.
2. An organization or group of officials who permanently represent a sovereign state in a second sovereign state or with respect to an international organizations such as the United Nations. We went to the Chinese embassy to get a visa.
