Flame

1. The visible part of fire. We saw the flames from a distance.
2. A romantic partner or lover in usually short-lived but passionate affair. She was an old flame of mine.
3. A brilliant reddish orange-gold fiery color. The flames from the fireplace were beautiful to watch.
4. To sterilize fields with high heat. We flamed the field to kill mold spores.
