Flat

1. (of a tire or other inflated object) Deflated, especially because of a puncture. The car had a flat.
2. Having no variations in altitude. The ocean was quite flat that day.
3. (music) Lowered by one semitone. Of a note or voice, lower in pitch than it should be.
4. Of a carbonate drink, with all or most of its carbon dioxide having come out of solution so that the drink no longer fizzes or contains any bubbles. If the soda is left unsealed for a length of time it will go flat.
5. Uninteresting. The party was a bit flat.
6. (of a battery) Unable to generate power; dead. Our battery went flat after a little use.
7. Not glossy. We used a flat paint in the dining room.
8. Bluntly. He turned me down flat.
9. Completely. I am flat broke.
10. A type of ladies' shoes wit low heels. She loved to walk in her flats.
