Freeze

1. To pass from the liquid to the solid state by loss of heat. The pipes will freeze tonight without some heat.
2. To acquire a surface or coat of ice from cold. It could see the freezing on the trees.
3. To be killed or harmed by cold or frost. They almost froze to death.
4. To become fixed, stuck, or attached by or as if by frost. The lock froze up with rust.
5. To become motionless or immobile, as from surprise or attentiveness. I heard a shot and froze in my tracks.
6. To be unable to act or react as from fear. He froze in front of the audience.
6. A policeman shouts freeze! That means emphatically, you must not move.
