Gas

1. Matter in a state intermediate between liquid and plasma that can be contained only if it is surrounded by a solid (or held together by gravitational pull). We use the gas oxygen from steel cylinders to weld.
2. A chemical element or compound is such a state. Heat will turn water to a gas state.
3. Methane or other waste gasses rapped in one's belly as a result of the digestive process. My stomach hurts, I think I have some gas.
4. A humorous or entertaining event or person. He is such a gas.
5. To kill with poisonous gas. The Germans used gas to kill the enemy.
6. To talk, chat. We just gassed this afternoon.
7. Short for gasoline. The car needs gas.
