2. A glimpse or hint; an indistinct sign of something. She had a gleam of hope
when she saw the sun begin to shine.
3. Brightness or shininess; splendor. The diamond gleamed in the sunlight.
4. To be briefly but strongly apparent. We saw the gleam of the burnished gold.
