1. Computer Science. A computer and the associated physical equipment directly involved in the performance of data-processing or communications functions. I purchased some of new hardware for my computer, a monitor and mouse and a scanner.
2. Metal goods and utensils such as locks, tools and cutlery. A hardware store will sell you all the hardware need for your new house.
3. Weapons, especially military weapons. The army needs lots of hardware to fight a winning war.
