2. An in-between platform or large bottom-most or top-most step of a staircase. After climbing the flight of stairs she rested on the landing before continuing.
3. A place on a shore line where a boat can land. The city built a boat landing for the fishermen.
4. The place where an marine amphibious force comes ashore in a war. The Marine made an amphibious landing on Iwo Jima.
