1. A segment of the trunk of a tree when stripped of branches. The cut up the
logs for firewood.
2. Wood chunk to use in a hearth fire. Put another log on the fire.
3. The exponent required to produce a given number. The log of 1000 is 10 to
the third power.
4. A written record of the transmissions by a radio station. Each station must
keep a log of it time on the air.
5. A written record of events on a voyage (of a ship or plane). The ship's log
showed the time of departure and average speed for the voyage.
5. To cut down, trim and haul timber. They logged that hillside this summer.
