1. Something that protrudes, sticks out. Her leg had a suspicious lump on it.
2. Something that sticks or clusters together; a blob. The batter had a lump of flour in it.
3. A group, set or unit. The money arrived in one big lump payment.
4. A dull or lazy person. Don't sit there like a lump.
5. A beating or verbal abuse. He has taken his lumps over the years.
6. To treat as a single unit; to group together. People tend to lump turtles and tortoises together even though they are different creatures.
