Nylon

1. Any of a family of high-strength, resilient synthetic polymers, the molecules of which contain the recurring amide group CONH. Nylon is a thermoplastic, silky material, first used commercially in a nylon-bristled toothbrush.
2. Cloth or yarn made from one of these synthetic materials. My jacket was made from nylon.
