Pad

1. A number of sheets of paper of the same size stacked one on top of the other and glued together at one end; a tablet. He took a pad of paper to class to take notes on.
2. A thin, cushionlike mass of soft material used to fill, give shape to, or protect against jarring, scraping, or other injury. She put pads on the table to prevent scratches when we moved it.
3. To lengthen (something written or spoken) with extraneous material. He had padded his expense account.
