Racket

1. A device consisting of an oval frame with tight interlacing network of strings an handle, used to strike a ball or shuttlecock in various games. He hit a backhand shot with his tennis racket.
2. A wooden paddle, as one used in table tennis (ping pong). Each player must have a racket to play.
3. A loud, distressing noise. The boys made a dreadful racket arguing over the candy.
4. A dishonest business or practice, especially one that obtains money through fraud or extortion. The man had a racket selling defective goods.
