Rally
1. A competition in which automobiles are driven over a given route with
rules. The rally featured 30 autos.
2. To call together for a common purpose; assemble. We will rally troops at the
parade ground.
3. To reassemble and restore order. The officers managed to rally the scattered
soldiers.
4. To recover from a setback or disadvantage. The stock market rallied after a
short decline.
5. To exchange several strokes before a point is won. The rally lasted for a
several minutes.
6. A sharp improvement in health, vigor, or spirits. After some time the
patient rallied and began to recover.
