Receiver

1. Electronics. A device, such as a part of a radio, television set, or telephone, that receives incoming radio signals and converts them to perceptible forms, such as sound or light. The receiver sends its output to an amplifier and then on to the speakers.
2. Football. The member of the offensive team eligible to catch a forward pass. The receiver caught the pas wit just one hand for a touchdown.
