Ridge

1. The horizontal line formed by the juncture of two sloping planes, especially the line formed by the surfaces at the top of a roof. The roof to the left has a capstone on the ridge.
2. A long narrow upper section or crest. The boat was on the ridge of a large wave.
3. A long, narrow, or crested part of the body. Her glasses sat on the ridge of her nose.
4. A long narrow chain of hills or mountains. Also called a ridgeline. The winds were quite strong on Hurricane ridge.
5. A narrow, raised strip, as in cloth or plowed ground. The plow left a ridge on each pass.
