1. The land along the edge of an ocean, a sea, a lake, or a river; a coast. The shore in Oregon is a combination of sand and rocks.
2. Land as opposed to water. The sailor had an assignment on shore this year.
3. To support by or as if by a prop. We need to shore up the sagging floors.
