Sign

1. A displayed structure bearing lettering or symbols, used to identify or advertise a place of business. The motel had a flashing neon sign outside.
2. Something that suggests the presence or existence of a fact. Tears is a sign of sadness.
3. A posted notice bearing a designation, direction, or command. The EXIT sign showed us how to leave the building.
