Stripe

1. A long narrow band distinguished, as by color or texture, from the surrounding material or surface. The band uniform had a red stripe running down the leg.
2. A textile pattern of parallel bands or lines on a contrasting background. Convicts often were clothed in striped uniforms.
3. A fabric having such a pattern. Wearing stripes can have a tendency to make you look fat.
