Taxi

1. An automobile that carries passengers for a fare, usually calculated by a meter. Often referred also by a taxicab or just cab. She took a taxi to the airport.
2. To move slowly on the ground or the surface of the water before takeoff or after landing. We taxied our plane to the runway and waited for permission to take off.
