Village

1. A small group of dwellings in a rural area, usually ranking in size between a hamlet and a town. They lived in a village in South Africa.
2. In some U.S. states, an incorporated community smaller in population than a town. There is no limit to the population of a village in New York.
3. Not normally a term used to describe small towns in the USA.
