1. A usually pliable metallic strand or rod made in many lengths and diameters, sometimes clad and often electrically insulated, used chiefly for structural support or to conduct electricity. Our house was wired for telephone and television service.
2. To enclose with or as if with a fence using metallic strand or rod made in many lengths and diameters. The fence was made with wires attached to fence posts.
