1. Any of various Eurasian plants of the genus Brassica, especially B. nigra and B. juncea, which are cultivated for their pungent seeds. Mustard is planted for both the seeds and leaves.
2. A condiment made from the powdered seeds of some of these plants.Mustard is used as a sandwich filling or garnish for a salad or other dishes.
