Aqueduct

1. A pipe or channel designed to transport water from a remote source, usually by gravity. Roman aqueducts, water supply systems, were constructed during the Roman Empire
2. A bridgelike structure supporting a conduit or canal passing over a river or low ground. The term aqueduct also often refers specifically to a bridge on an artificial watercourse.
