Barbecue

1. A grill, pit, or outdoor fireplace for roasting meat. Set up the barbecue and let's have some steaks.
2. A whole animal carcass or section thereof roasted or broiled over an open fire or on a spit. We shall barbecue a pig.
3. A social gathering, usually held outdoors, at which food is cooked over an open flame. The whole family gathered for a barbecue.
