11. Money is round amounts of a million or more may be expressed partially in words. The style given in the first column is the preferred.
a. $14 million or 12 million dollars) d. $6¼ billion or 6¼ billion dollars or $6250 million
b. $10.5 million or 10.5 million dollars e. $10½ or 10½ million dollars
c. $6.25 billion or 6.25 billion dollars or 6250 million dollars
This style may be used only when the amount consists of a whole number with nothing more than a simple fraction or decimal following.
Write an amount like $10,235,000 entirely in figures.
Express related amounts the same way. from $500,000 to $1,000,000 (not: from $500,000 to $1 million
Repeat the word million (billion, etc.) with each figure to avoid misunderstanding
$5 million to $10 million (not: $5 to $10 million)

12. For amounts under a dollar, ordinarily use figures and the words cents.
a. I will not pay more than 50 cents for that item. c. That will need 50 cents' worth of parts to fix it.
b. Those 25-cent tokens can be used at any tollbooth. d. I wouldn't give two cents for that car
