A Serif Font

A serif is one of the short lines near the top and bottom of the long parts of some printed letters. The font shown to the left has serifs on most of the letters. Exception is the O. Some fonts have more serifs than others.

The font I used on this page is sans serif with no short lines near the top and bottom of letters. The font used on this page is "arial."
