It is best for foreigners to master chopsticks before going to China. Shown is the place setting at this restaurant. The ceramic spoon is very commonly in use in China. We don't smoke and Paul has to be very careful of smoke due to his macular degeneration in his right eye. So just turn over the ash trays and they will remove them. We always let them know Paul could not be near smoke and no one objected.
