Agricultural University of Hebei (AUH), founded in 1902, as one of the oldest higher educational institutions in China and the pioneer in Hebei educational sector of higher learning, now is one of the key universities of the province. Its two campuses in Baoding cover an area of 1.6188 million m2 in total where the building area amounts to 0.95 million m2, in addition to 3.3 million m2 of affiliated farmland, over 27 million m2 of affiliated woodland.

The teaching faculty totals more than 2,613 including 223 full professors, 275 associate professors. Total enrolment in 2005 exceeds 24,271, including 1,060 for doctorial or master degree and 367 in-service candidates for academic degrees of various levels, in addition to over 3,000 participants in adult education.
