No Chinese ! - 7

In connection with "Speak English" we also had tried to discourage the speaking of Chinese at the school. At our school in Chengdu we had a policy if you spoke Chinese at the school you paid a fine. When that didn't work as well as we hoped we changed it to: "If anyone speaks Chinese in the classroom everybody in the classroom paid a fine." The results in improved language learning improved greatly.
