University Gymnasium - 12

The University gym is noted for its historic and cultural value, which became a popular place for generations of Tsinghua graduates. It also gains its name by producing thousands of talented athletes to represent China from the field of physical education. The gym was one of the most advanced of its kind in the country when it was established. It consist two stages, including the front hall with its Western Classic architectural style built from 1916 to1919 and back hall with the same design style built from 1931 to 1932. It provides various kinds of athletic equipment. Including a basketball court, suspension athletic track, and an indoor swimming pool, of which was used by former Chairman Mao Zedong after the liberation of China.
