Langfang, Hebei - 4,358,839 Langfang of Hebei Province, China, is a prefecture-level city located approximately midway between Beijing and Tianjin with a total population of 3.85 million and an urban area population of 763,700. Its total area is around 6,429 sq km. It is the smallest prefecture-level division in Hebei Province by land area. According to historical records, ancestors of the Langfang people inhabited this area as early as 6,000 thousand years ago. It was included in the territory of the Yan Kingdom during the Warring States Period (476 BC-221 BC), and as a national boundary of the Song Dynasty (960 to 1279) and Liao Kingdom (an ethnic regime in north China).
