Xinzheng Tailor Shop The local tailor here in Xinzheng measures Bernice for her Red Brocade Jacket and skirt. His shop is in the alley (Hutong) on the right side near the Train Station. He has a selection of material at his shop. Melanie Su stands in the background talking to another student of ours Elsa Zhu. The jackets for both of us and a shirt for Bernice and a pair of pants for Paul were a gift from Melanie. In the fabric Market in Zhengzhou there exists hundreds of patterns and fabrics to pick from. Most silks cost about 20 Yuan or about $2.50 US per meter (39 inches). The tailor takes about 7 days to complete your clothes. You must bargain for your material. The silk we chose cost 20 Yuan after bargaining but they asked 35 Yuan at first. Tell them your price and if they refuse tell them good-bye and walk on. Most of the time they will come after you. We bought most of our material at the fabric market in Zhengzhou. At the fabric market hundreds of vendors sell all types and colors of materials. Return to Clothes Choices On to Next ⇨ |
