7. Beginning of a Tall Building

Most Americans would have trouble believing me when I say that about 5,000 multistory buildings are being built in Shanghai this very day. Every city we have traveled to have hundreds of multistory buildings being constructed. Here you see the beginning of such a building. Most are apartment buildings with shops on the first floor. Some are office buildings. It puts millions of Chinese countryside people to work. First the workers construct some living quarters out of bricks and building materials to live in as they work on the building. The living quarters will be taken down after completion.
