Chinese Industrial Empire 27. Rug-weaving Factory We visited this rug-weaving factory. They make large wool rugs. The man passes the shuttle through the thread by hand. Notice the various balls of wool yarn behind him. A lever reverses the threads for the next pass. We bought a wool rug for $7 US. The original price was $40. Others in the factory were dying yarn in big boiling vats.
