Xiamen McDonald's

Xiamen has a McDonald's in the downtown area. Many of our students worked there part-time. They are paid 2 Chinese dollars an hour. That is less than 25 cents US. They get a free half pounder after they work for four hours. A Big Mac costs 8 Chinese dollars. That is a little less than a dollar US. We go there for a taste of America. We went there for Thanksgiving dinner. We also went there for our wedding anniversary. It is always crowded with few tables on both floors. It is always crowded in every city we have been in. On New Years Day they ran out of hamburger. It's hard to believe!
