Documents Needed in China 26. Airport Tax In China at every airport there was an airport tax. It is a little different in the USA in that the tax is included in your ticket price. However in China the tax was separate. You had to be sure you pay for your airport tax and get a tax receipt. You needed to show it when you pass through security. If you forgot they sent you back for it and then another wait. The price varied at different airports. This airport was 90 Yuan, about $11 US. Each person had to pay. In China nothing is official unless there is a red seal on the document. Note this has 3 red stamps. The Chinese have perfected bureaucracy to a high degree. Now they include the tax in the price of the ticket. It seemed foolish to sell you the ticket stamp it three times and then take it away moments later. ⇦ Back to 1998 Resident Permit 25 Return to Chinese Documents Page 4 On to Mao's Red Book 27 ⇨ |
