2. Steps up Mount Emei

Our boss had sent us to Emei Shan with four students he truly trusted. They were told if Bernice or I fell he would hold them responsible. We plan to stay at the top over night. The students have food, water and other supplies. We use canes because the stone steps are quite slippery in the occasional rain. Soon some porters with a sedan chair approached Bernice and offered to carry her to the top. She thought the price too high and refused. They followed her for a number of miles. Eventually she accepted when the price got low enough.
