Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) 15. Sam and Bernice Explore the Trails Sam and Bernice continued on the many trails that crisscross the top of the mountain. I wisely rested at the Cloud-Resting-Pavilion near the wedding tree. I enjoyed watching the various groups pass by some in a hurry and some enjoying the scenery. Young people, old people, lovers and children by the hundreds all exploring the sights. The Chinese have always been avid hikers and love to go on outings such as these. The stone steps and paths help from eroding the mountains against the tens-of-thousands of Chinese tourists who would otherwise cut the mountain in half with their travels on the paths. Sam, one of our students, took extremely good care of us on this trip. We learned to appreciate his humor and wise council. ⇦ Back to Page 14 On to Page 16 ⇨Return to Huangshan - Page 2 |
