3. Concrete for the New Road

Here you get to see the origin of all the concrete that will be poured on sections of the highway. Perhaps 20 different portions of the highway have workers working on the highway. Altogether perhaps a thousand workers toil on portions of the 40-mile repaving job. Rock, sand, gravel, and cement all get put into the mixer by hand. It then gets loaded on the trucks and taken to the section ready for concrete. Flaggers with radios control the traffic around the closed lanes. Everyone takes the delays with much good-natured resignation.
