9. Kunming Vicinity Map

In our visit to Kunming in 1985 we stayed at the Kunming Botany Institute. We toured the Stone forest, a long 5-hour ride in 1985, much shorter now with a modern highway. We climbed up West Hill and toured the Dragon gate. We spent some time with various students homes as their guests. They we most gracious to both of us. One evening we tried to eat at a restaurant but most all were full with wedding parties. At last one wedding couple invited us to join the wedding party and that was great fun.
