10. End of the Trail to the top of Laoshan

We stopped here at the end of the trail to the top of the mountain for our lunch. Many people were enjoying their splash in the pool. It was a wonderful day to spend with our friends. Unfortunately on the way down the mountain Bernice slipped on some sheep manure that was on one of the steps and the fall broke her glasses and she suffered a cut above her eye. We got her down the hill and they gave her some first aid at the bottom of the hill. When we got to the city we went to a doctor and he put some stitches above her eye. He did a fine job and it left no scar. However, Hua felt he charged us too much and there was a rather loud argument and at the end the doctor cut the price by a factor of 100. Hua argued that we were in China to help the Chinese and we were not paid very much money, which was true. There is a temple at the top of the trail, pictured above in the center.
