5. On our way to Laoshan

The Oceanology Institute loaned us a car and driver to visit one of the local sites, Laoshan. Laoshan is a famous mountain nearby. It is the source of Laoshan water that is bottled and sold through all of China. It is also the water used in the Tsingtao Beer, a world famous beer sold throughout the world. Hua was our guide along with another scientist. Hua later got a job doing research at the University of Florida after the professor called us for a reference. I told the professor that Hua was not the best English speaker but no one worked harder or was more dependable. Hua's wife later joined him in Florida. Hua is now an American Citizen and we are proud of him and what he has accomplished.
