6. Our Passenger Boat on the Yangzi

These boats are for the Chinese people. Prices are very cheap compared to the tour boats designed for the foreign tourists. On those boats you can expect to pay $3,500 for five days on the river. Of course the situation is considerably improved. We always enjoy traveling with the Chinese as they travel to experience China as the Chinese see it. The boats are very crowded as you can see. Many travel with a lot of goods to sell in the towns further east. These boats are part of the Dongfanghong (East is Red) Line. These boats carry up to 1,200 passengers.
